I dare say是习语（也可拼成I daresay），主要用以下两个用法：

1. 表示“我想”，与I suppose同义。如：

You are tired, I dare say. 我看你也许是累了。

I daresay you’re ready for a drink. 我想你也许想喝点什么。

I dare say your sympathy is with him. 我猜想你是同情他的。)

2. 表示“我同意你说的，但这无关紧要”，即I accept what you say, but it doesn’t make any difference。如：

A：But I drive on the left in England! 可在英国我开车时是靠左走!

B：I daresay you do, but we drive on the right here. 我相信你所说的，但是在这里我们必须靠右走。

A：But the watch was given to me；I didn’t buy it. 可这表是人家送我的，并不是我自己买的。

B：I daresay you didn’t, but you’ll have to pay duty on it all the same. 我可以承认你不是买的，但你照样得交关税。

注：daresay的这种用法只用于第一人称单数，所以不能说He daresay, She dare say之类的。
