编者按：2007年第9期本刊发表了一篇题为《〈第二课堂〉一篇文章碰中7道高考题》的文章，当时在广大读者中引起了强烈反响，并且在其后的若干年中，本刊每年都有一些句子或试题与当年的高考题高度吻合。今年高考结束后，又有某些“好事”的读者给本刊打来电话，说是本刊又有不少题与高考题高度相似，有的甚至是完全雷同。但是，高考作为国考，其命题是高度保密的，况且本刊碰中高考题的文章的发表时间均远远早于高考题的出现时间，有的甚至要比高考早上好几年。所以，我们只能说：“对不起，高考题，我与你太相像了，但这并不是我的错。”

同学们仔细看一看，比一比，这两道题的相似程度有多高？很显然，试题所用的句子
100%相同，连标点号都一样，只是设空位置不一样。两道题的意思均为：A：那么我们今天晚上做什么呢？
B：由你决定――你想做什么都行。
【考点归纳】
考点1 口语惯用表达：It’s up to you.
It’s up to you是口语中一句很有用的表达，其意为“由你决定”“随你的便”。如：
―Do you want to go out tonight? 你今晚出去吗?
―I’m easy. It’s up to you. 我无所谓，随你便。
事实上，It’s up to you 在近几年来一直都比较受高考命题者的青睐。如：
(1) ―What do you want to do next? We have half an hour until the basketball game.

考点2 whatever 的用法
whatever是英语中一个很重要的考点，同学们在复习备考时要注意以下几点：
1. 从用法上看，whatever可用于引导名词性从句和让步状语从句。如：
When you are older you can watch whatever programme you like. 等你长大了，你爱看什么节目就可以看什么节目。（引导宾语从句）
Whatever you think, I’m going ahead with my plans. 不管你怎么想，我都要施行我的计划。（引导状语从句）
Whatever you do, don’t tell him that I told you this. 无论如何，别跟他说这件事是我告诉你的。（引导状语从句）
2. 用于习语or whatever，意思是“或其他类似的事物”。如：
Take any sport―basketball, ice hockey, swimming or whatever. 要参加体育活动――篮球、冰球、游泳之类的活动。
Would you like some orange juice or a beer or whatever? 你想来点橙汁、啤酒还是其他什么的?
