head表示“人头”和“牛头”时，均为可数名词，但是用法有所不同：

(1) 表示“人头”时，其复数形式为heads。如：

Two heads are better than one. 两人智慧胜一人。

The plane flew over our heads. 飞机从我们头上飞过。

(2) 表示“牛头”时，其复数形式与单数形式相同。如：

twelve head of cattle 12头牛

50 head of cattle 50头牛

注意，当所表示的数量为十、百、千时，可省略其中的 head of。如：

thirty (head of) cattle 30头牛

100 (head of) cattle 100头牛
