7  I feel like we have to punish him or he won’t respect us.

I feel like we have to punish him or he won’t respect us.

(4) 在口语中,feel like 后面可接由 that 引导的从句,意思与 feel as if 相同,作“感觉好像……”解。如:

I feel like (that I am sitting on pins and needles.

He felt like (that) he was going to faint.

由此可知:feel like后面接由that引导的从句时,意思与feel as if 相同,作“感觉好像……”

注:后接句子时,其中的 like 相当于 as if as though。如:

I felt like [as if, as though] I was swimming.

Alice felt like [as if, as though] she was in a very nice dream.

在非正式的口语里,feel like 后面可以接 clauses feel as if 同义。例如:

“How do you feel?” Manny asked brightly. “Feel? How do I feel? I feel like I’m two hundred years old and red hot pincers are pulling at my chest.” ( Lee Langley[Eng.] 1980)

3. N. D. Turton and J. B. Heaton主编的Longman Dictionary of Common Errors (Eleventh impression 2003) p135

P In some places you feel like you are in a jungle.

Feel like (and feel as if /though) are followed by a clause:

I felt as if everyone was staring at me. (=It seemed as if….)

Alice felt as if/though she was in a very nice dream. (也可以说:Alice felt like she was…

BUY-BNC BRTISH NATIONAL CORPUS (UK,1980s-1993)Mark Davies, Brigham Young Universityhttp://corpus.byu.edu/bnc/

(2) Walk up to the gates and you feel like you have been sandbagged in the stomach.

(3) And the brakes feel like they could stop an express train.

(4) “I felt like I was escaping just to get in,” he reflected after his taxi failed to turn up and he got a lift from a receptionist at his hotel.

(5) But if she feels like she wants extra time I think she ought to allow herself extra time That's right yeah. don't she?
