一、“美国梦”的翻译是American Dream / American dream

▲“美国梦”的翻译是American Dream / American dream，没有 America Dream 或 America dream 这样的翻译，即要用形容词 American，而不是用名词 America。事实上，American Dream 和 American dream 已被一些英语词典作为词条收录。如：

《麦克米伦高阶美语词典》（Macmillan English Dictionary for Advanced Learners）收录有词条American Dream，其释义为：the idea that the U.S. is a place where anyone can become successful if they work hard enough

《美国传统词典》(American Traditional Dictionary)收录有词条American Dream，其释义为：An American ideal of a happy and successful life to which all may aspire

二、“中国梦”的翻译是China Dream / China dream

《英语世界》2013年第3期发表了一篇题为《中国梦：China dream 还是 Chinese dream?》的文章，文中指出，“在对外报道中，中国梦一致英译为 China dream，而不是 Chinese dream”，该文从中西文化交流史的角度进行考察，分析了“中国梦”为什么被一致译成 China dream，而不是 Chinese dream。

 

但是有趣的是，就本人的观察，好像有不少人是将“中国梦”译成 Chinese Dream，而不China Dream。比如大家熟悉的《中国日报》就基本上用的是 Chinese Dream。如：

1.
